Radiesse®
Overview
Radiesse® is an FDA – approved, next generation filler that
is setting the new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles
such as nasolabial folds. Made of calcium based microspheres suspended
in a water based gel, Radiesse filler is injected into the skin through
a simple and minimally invasive procedure giving you immediate, long-lasting
visible improvement of folds and wrinkles. Whether you’re longing
to reverse the common signs of aging or need to address a more serious
health issue, Radiesse® dermal filler provides a simple, natural alternative
to invasive treatments. Developed with safety and longevity in mind, RADIESSE
offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without
the risks and costs associated with surgery.
What to Expect
During your free consultation at The Artisan Center for Plastic Surgery,
a thorough discussion of your desires and expectations will be addressed.
Dr. Rodgers or Georgia Sloan R.N. will explain how treatment with Radiesse
can safely contour, augment, and correct facial features for a soft, natural
look that lasts. Treatment with RADIESSE dermal filler is so simple and
convenient; it can be performed during a lunch hour. You’ll see
the results right away - and these results may last up to a year. Treatment
with RADIESSE dermal filler requires little to no downtime. In most cases,
patients return to normal activities almost immediately after treatment.
There have been very few side effects reported in clinical trials and
actual usage. However, you may experience some common injection-related
reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, itching, discoloration,
or tenderness at the injection site. These conditions typically resolve
themselves within one to two days. Dr. Rodgers or Georgia Sloan R.N. will
explain what to expect and provide specific instructions after your treatment
with RADIESSE.
How it Works
RADIESSE dermal filler works with your own body. Upon injection, it immediately
adds volume to safely contour, correct, and beautify facial features.
And, unlike other fillers, RADIESSE dermal filler continues to work over
time. With its patented microsphere technology, it starts a process called
collagenesis, stimulating your body to produce new collagen and encouraging
collagen to grow around the injection area.
In Office Procedure
Treatment with RADIESSE dermal filler is typically performed at The Artisan
Center using a local anesthetic. Occasionally, Dr. Rodgers will inject
it in the operating room when it is combined with other surgical procedures.
RADIESSE dermal filler is injected under the skin in a continuous stream
through a very fine needle. Once the filler is injected, Dr. Rodgers or
Georgia Sloan R.N. will massage it for precise, beautiful results you
can see right away.
